I just used some stainless washers for now to mount and found that 8 on top and 18 on bottom snugged it up with no end play.
seat height seems to be down...

Make sure you seat the needle first then the retaining ring which looks like a bow. I made that mistake and had to disassemble mine again...

mine took about 1.2 to 1.4 quarts but i didnt really measure as i was pouring slowly from a 5qt jug....
