Also I threw the old cap out I should of torn into it to see if it had a resistor.

What is a ignition cap, are y’all talking about an ignition coil, a spark plug boot, or what? I’ve never heard of a ignition cap on a motorcycle. Or a car. There’s a distributor cap on a car, and a ignition module on a car. I’m completely lost. Please explain

The ignition coil and wire, and spark plug boot/cap. Some boots/caps come with resistors installed.
