That's hard to beat . I got mine for $3000 and i think that was a good deal.
Australia is not as big as US market so that's maybe one of the reasons in price difference.

I think I sold mine, with a salvage title from being wrecked, for $1,300. If I needed (another) 200cc D/S I'd have kept it for sure.

I had a new Q at the same time.

One of our members (sorry, can't remember whom) purchased a simple combination lock as a reminder. It's not the rotary type, but rather the style with individual numerical wheels. He keeps it locked to the handlebars and simply dials in the mileage as a visual reminder when he fills up. Simple and brilliant.
I think it was WildAlaskan that posted the original idea of using a wheeled combo lock as a trip meter, then I remember seeing a pic of Barnones Q with one on it. Simple and ingenious solution to broken or nonexistent trip meters... I have to pick one up for my bike as it doesn't have a trip.
