An announcement...
We need an announcement that tells everyone who signs up that when they buy their Chinese bike they should immediately, before doing anything, acquire at least one replacement CDI from eBay (or wherever).
That is all.

YAY!
But not my point lol. I'm leaning more toward all the people who have issues with the CDI's. It's just smart. I even fought over it...I had voltage to the cdi, voltage from the cdi, but no run. You guys said "change the CDI" and I resisted...until I gave in, bought one on eBay, and BAM! Problem solved. I'm not the only one.

How about a sticky with links to which one works on which bike? Or does that already exist in the FAQ stickies?

I think there is about 4 main styles. AC/DC and not the band.
The DC ones are typically much larger and not as common. The 125-200cc bikes tend to use a 6 pin AC style. The horizontal clones I think have a 4 pin. The scooters tend to use the same 6 pin as the larger bikes. This is just my general observation. |
