Hi-Bird qh-200st atv, I need some help getting it to start
Hello to all,
I am a new member, i have recently got a Hi-Bird qh-200st atv. Its in great shape, but the last owner said it will not start. They put a new battery in and thats about it. What should be my plan of attack to get to start. As of now, it will not turn over at all. I bought a new battery too. I am thinking maybe wiring, cdi box....any ideas? Thanks |

I have a 250ST! You're the only other HiBird quad owner I've seen lol.
Define "will not turn over". Some people say that and mean it won't fire, but cranks. Will it crank at all? If it does crank, do you have spark? Pull the spark plug wire off and use a screw driver or another spark plug. Hold it close to the exhaust and crank the motor to see if there is a sparking going on. No spark, almost certainly means CDI. If it does not crank, do you mean just by pushing the button? Try holding a screw driver across the terminals of the starter relay and see if it'll crank tha way.

I could use a new tail light. But I'm sure something will eventual brake or ware out. It makes me a bit nervous when I can't find a online part store, that deals with hi-bird atvs.

Most of us opt for aftermarket stuff, like the Edge II tail light. eBay is your friend for most parts. Search for generic terms, like "dirt bike muffler", and you'll likely find what you're after.

Hi-bird qh200st
Does anyone in this forum have a wiring diagram for a Hi-bird qh200st. The previous owner had unplugged a few wires and not sure where they go. The quad will turn over, but no spark. It has a brand new cdi. All I need is either advice or a wiring diagram. Thanks, Makeitoffroad

The factory cdi should be DC if they replaced it with AC cdi. seen that happen before.
