Hey Ron! Thanks for checking in. How's our new bike?

I don't think I'd buy an engine that says "magical" on it. I'm not sold on liquid cooled China motors yet.

Will they actually ship one engine to you, or do you have to buy a container?

A 4 valve motor should be more thermally efficient than a 2 valve motor, and produce more power as well. Could be fun.

Just a couple of questions.

The alibaba site shows what looks like two different motors, maybe one is pushrod? Do you know which one they will ship to you?

How hard will it be to modify the engine mounts to fit the different motor? Where will you mount the radiator, route the hoses? You'll need to fabricate the intake and exhaust systems. Will your ignition system work with this motor?

hey Weldangrind
if you like that type bike buy the ninja 250 i will start a post over in street ,i've away from here a while and find i can't host photos from myspace any more so i'll have to do something else there .. yes i can buy 1 engine from them and the cost would go down for more than 1 . engine comes with intake carburater ,radiator (s) my choice and they'll add the front pipe for extra . the engines just look different left and right side , but the do have others as well , do wish i had a frame to mock it up tho . think a gy-5 has more room .

I'm looking forward to your Megelli thread.

I use Photobucket, and it has worked well for me.

That 300 would be fun in your Viva, no doubt.

i have a technical drawing of the engine and the only 200cc drawing i could find was a water cooled fml163 engine . so as far as i can tell the rear mounting points are the same or not far from being the same , width wise i can't tell . front mounting points appear a little off , much easier to mod that side . they will supply dual radiators at my request and should fit where the false fins are now . Ignition is cdi and would run with the current setup , but they build bike with these engines and could also supply a cdi with the timing curve preferred by there engineers . bigger worry would be head room in the gy-2 frame . gy-5 came with an overhead cam engine ,there may be more head room in that frame .

It's all about valve area. If you had one intake valve that measured 1/2" in diameter, the area would be 0.196 square inches. If you had two intake valves that each measured 3/8" in diameter, the total area would be 0.22 square inches, which is a considerable increase.

RECRACER,
Can you supply a link to the above "detailed photo"?
Are these DB250/DB300 bikes sold in the USA?

No EPA approval means the engine might get crushed by US customs.
