Any upgrade their tires?

Other than blimpman, has anyone else put on some meatier tires yet? I forsee myself doing more fun dirt riding on this thang than I do general commuting. So I'm wanting to get some beefier tires and just shopping for some inexpensive options.
I suppose a big knobby tire would look "cooler" siting at traffic lights too. lol

But that's not why I want them.

I ride 95% Dirt, mountain, single track terrain and still on stock tires.
True they are a little slippy in the wet and in some very steep muddy/rocky hills but I have been impressed with how they handle.
I'm not going to upgrade till after I've wrecked them or worn them.

So far I've done mostly street riding, but I will make sure to burn off my reaqr tire before changing to a beefier one... The dealer I got my bike at has some really knobby dot tires. Not sure the brand.

Hey guys

I just installed the Kenda K760 Trackmaster II {120/100-18 6PR 68M TT 4.6/118 27.2/690 693/315 32/2.3 3.00x18} on the first customer's bike that purchased a GY-5 from me. He had to trim the chain guard a little but He Loves the tire. He said the bike rips through the mud & grass like it never did before, goes through the snow great and it only slipped once when he hit a log. Since the tire is an 80% dirt and 20% street I asked him how he liked it on the road...he said it's bumpiness was no worse than the stock tire but now he will be mainly using it on the trails.

Mefo tires have become the tire of choice for many adventurous riders but they are rather pricey and hard to come by. Long lasting withdecent road manners and offroad, except deep mud.

I've got Trakmasters on mine that I got from a local independent shop. They just happened to be on sale at his distributor's so I got them for the same price as I had found on the net and didn't have to pay shipping!

(PS--Make sure that you use heavy duty tubes no matter what the tire.)
