My New To Me Toy
50K miles, 4.0L inline six, six speed manual trans, two tops, a/c, cruise, tilt, etc, etc. It doesn't have power windows and I almost forgot how to roll them down.

I like those old inline six's.
Hard tops are great especially with A/C and I would imagine harsh winters. |

The inline 6 was what I was looking for. Gobs of low end torque. The engine had been around in one form or another from AMC for years. The old 1960s 232 with a two barrel had a surprising amount of grunt.

straight 6's are very strong motors
toyota supra 94.5 -98 twin turbo 2jz-gte motors use a straight 6 motor and those can run a 1000whp easy with very minor internal work.. i think they can handle 750whp with out any bottem work.. dodge turbo cummings desiels run a straight 6.. some friends of mine last year got the new style jeep sahara hard top, id have a jeep if it was not for the fact that i dont like the short wheel base or how narrow they are but none the less it looks good and looks like its a good solid stock jeep.. let the mod's begin.. lift it 3inches, widen the stance by 2 inchs on each side run wider rims, rims should be tiny with big ol fat off road tires..do not put "street rims on it" like how you see lifted trucks running low profile tires.. it looks stupid, trucks and jeeps and any other off road truck or jeep should have tiny rims with big tires.. |

Mike-My son-in-law is already trying to sell me stuff. He has an 07 Unlimited 4 door that he is running off road. I may do a winch and a receiver hitch and leave it at that. I like the narrowness. It'll make parking at O'hare Airports' "E" lot a breeze.

if you want a better mpg order your self a 70 dollar intake off ebay, and get a flowmaster welded on it
intakes are good for 2 to 4 % better mpg exhaust are good for 3 to 5 % better mpg also run royal purple oil and gear lube in the rear diff.. royal purple is 35 bucks for a 5 quart jug, its pricey i know but it was designed for lemans, top fuel, pretty much hardcore racing and for the first few years after it was invented, you could only get it by going through companies that deal in parts for those.. you can also go 15k between oil changes all tho i dont do that i do go 5k.. royal purple is the best motor oil you can run and the best gear lube you can run.. |

Great vehicle.
I'm also a fan of that particular Six. Also like the removable hardtop. Glad you got a manual trans, I had no idea they had six speeds. Enjoy!

jeeps are cool. the closest thing to the feel of a motorcycle is a jeep with no top or doors. in my opinion anyways.
