The only way to crashproff a bike, IMHO, is to leave it in the garage. I'll continue to take my chances and ride! Carefully though...

I felt really bad watching this video. :( I wish to warn others that the rider is injured at the end of this video. :(

This video is very well done, but all evidence seems to indicate it is fake. The caption in the upper right corner of the video is "RTC Live." RTC is an acronym for Road Traffic Collision. Also, the "reporter" is looking right in the direction of the oncoming truck, but she never warns the rider. In addition, such a "live report" would undoubtedly be conducted on a closed track, not on a public highway. Finally, I doubt such technology is possible; it seems pretty far-fetched. I also doubt anyone would invest in such a project, let alone bring it to fruition. I think everyone knows that riding a motorcycle is inherently more dangerous than driving a car.

Nevertheless, I was still saddened to see the end result. :( Needless to say, the human brain is the only real protection a motorcycle rider possesses. We need to be constantly vigilant.

P.S. I can't find any evidence that TFKL Engineering exists.

Fake or not, that looked like a pretty hard hit... If nothing else it shows that you can never let a distraction take your attention away from the task at hand, riding the motorcycle. Double check before pulling out and never ever assume that the other driver sees you. Were no match for even a small car.

Cheers!
Stew

I'm convinced this video is fake. If you stop the video at the 1:16 mark, you can see both the rider, and the truck are blurred, and the images overlap each other a bit. In fact, I can't find any evidence to indicate this video is legitimate. However, this film clip shows you how sophisticated the video manipulation techniques have become; you can't trust your eyes any more. 8O

For me, this video "hits too close to home." I have experienced several near collisions with reckless motorists in the past month, and I was disturbed by the graphic portrayal of violence. :(

The Germans must have a strange sense of humor. If the actress had "hammed it up" a bit at the end, the video would have been less morbid. However, she acts very surprised, and frantic, as she races to the prostrate rider, lying unconscious in the street. :(

Yes it is a fake. It was done pretty well thogh. Most are too easy to spot.

If a lesson could be learned though, it would be that there is no replacement for being aware of your surroundings.

Very well done and should be used at training classes for "Always Head Check Your Turns." The rider didn't even bother looking right... :?
I give myself a crick in the neck pulling out onto a road like that.
The things some folks do for "fun". :o
