Full Throttle Engine Sputter on Roketa

Roketa DB-07 owner with Engine sputter issue. Bike idles great and runs great at half throttle in all gears. If open the throttle from half to a quick full in any gear (like leaving a stop light) the bike sputters and hesitates. :( . Never did it before. Any feedback would be great

thanks

If you have not had this problem before, you might be developing a bad CDI unit. I encourage you to get a replacement CDI unit; it only costs about $15. Even if the CDI unit is not bad, you will have a replacement handy, and the spare CDI unit is a great aid in troubleshooting electrical problems.

your main jet is probably partially clogged in your carb, Clean it out and i bet it will run great again.

Thanks for the feedback. I am having troubles locating a CDI for my Roketa DB-07. None of the ones on E-bay match the correct 6-pin orientation as the one on my Roketa. If anyone has part info that would be great. I did find one for $109 that was a exact match but i was looking for something that was a little cheaper.

You should be able to get your CDI unit from Roketa. See if part #7, in the following parts diagram, is the correct unit.

That's the CDI and after many web searches I found it in the link below. My brother who lives in another city and also owns a Roketa gave me his CDI to validate the problem. Regardless I ordered a new CDI today. I will keep you posted if this solves the problem

Just to give you something else to look for....I was having the same problem with my Shine, turned out to be a bad electrical connection in the harness.

Good luck ordering from Roketa. They have my money for a month & no part. No answer to emails & phone calls. I'd cancel the order if I could get hold of them. I think I will just protest the credit card charge. That may get their attention.

End of rant. Thanks for you attention & sympathy & sorry for the interruption.

John

I'm sorry to hear that, John. Roketa has been indicted for the illegal importation of ATVs. If you do a web search, you can find all the information about it. If I were you, I would protest the credit card charge, and try to get my money back.

That's wonderful! Thank you for letting us know about your success. If you have not done so, I suggest you also purchase an extra CDI unit. Besides having a spare handy if you need one, the extra CDI unit is a great aid for troubleshooting electrical problems.
