Received MCO today...

9 days from when I requested it. Everything is filled in, front & back. Very happy about that!

I put a spacer on the bottom fender bolt so the fender now clears the frame.

Heard a kinda rattling noise from the front while I was tooling around the 'burb tonight. It didn't seem to change with speed or RPM. Thanks to you guys, I had spokes on the brain 8O Once again, I lucked out...washers rattling below the fairing. DUH!

Every time I ride it gets a little easier. Now if I could just remember to adjust the mirror after I'm seated...I keep hitting it with my chest when I climb on. The joys of being an uncoordinated female!

Next big step: tackling the DMV. Buy hey, we can carry guns around out here; I don't think getting this licensed will be a problem.

Whoo hoo, Sam, I finally figured out how to get the smilies!

I'm glad you found the smileys Pauli! They just add that certain something that's missing from some posts. Don't you think?

Wow, that was fast on the MCO. Did they charge you for the MCO? Nobody mentioned anything about the cost of the MCO and they responded very quickly to my e-mail request for mine today. Some dealers charge $45 for an MCO.

When I mentioned the broken mirror and the missing aluminum wheels they told me to request them. Did you see that in my other thread? How nice would it be to have chrome and aluminum wheels for my Viva?

My battery is on charge and sometime tomorrow, I hope to be sorting the wiring out. We're moving this weekend. Been babysitting my mom's house and dogs! Looking forward to the first ride sometime next week!

Hey, I especially like this smiley! It's sorta what my head feels like right now!

Wow, I didn't realize I had advanced in the ranks. No charge for the MCO. I saw your posts about the mirror & the rims; I hope they come through for you. I would've expected them to blame it on shipping & say that they have a disclaimer on the rims. Before I ordered, I thought they had kind of a bad reputation, but I took the chance. I haven't had to deal with anything warranty-wise, the MCO got here just fine, so we'll see how the next couple months go.

I noticed that the headlight wires are stretched pretty tight when you turn the handlebars all the way to the right. We also had to solder an extension on the positive battery cable between the fuses & the battery--no way it was gonna reach. How is yours?

Hurry up & get well so you can ride this thing!

Pauli,
My wife pretty much has me regulated to couch duty today! I slept until almost 4pm but I was up all night. If I feel up to it, in a few minutes I may go out and install the battery. Some of my wiring in the front was unplugged. Just an odd connection here or there but they must all be right. I will probably shrink wrap most of the wiring connections. It looks like rain water could easily get into these connections. I have no problem with riding in the rain, so I want to make these connections as waterproof as I can.

Yeah, we'll see if Viva Motorsports comes through for me. I'm sure I'll get the mirror. Anything else will be a surprise.

Later!

I just installed the battery but the positive wire did not reach. I noticed that they were under the starter solenoid and weren't routed properly. I removed the starter solenoid and unplugged a few connections. Then I rerouted the cable and it worked perfectly. In fact, after the reroute it was more than long enough. Are you sure you needed to solder in a new piece? It took me about 5 minutes to route the wires. Just checking!

It turns over and everything. No Gas! Bummers!

Here's a picture of the new wire routing.
