New 2010 GIO Rebel T3 200cc ATV now sleeps in my stable!

mooohhaaaaaaa! :twisted:

The T3 arrived on Monday at my shop. (not a motorcycle or mechanic shop)
With the help of a good buddy, we sorted the parts and started assembly without the instructions. (Because there are never any instructions!)
Went through the whole machine and tightened everything down and mounted the wheels, etc.
All went well except the front brush guard which is missing the necessary bolts (trip to Canadian Tire will fix that) and the front brake lines got way too tight in the position the factory seems to want them to be run. So I re-routed them. I have a loose end to tie up with them and will get back to that later. Also missing was the little flanges for the wheel hub caps. :(

After final assembly and oil change, I was ready to fire it up. Not one drop of gas to be found :( , so start up happened today

. This thing runs so quietly you can hardly hear it 30-50 feet away.

So now I need to baby the break-in for 300km and then see what we can do with this guy. It sure looks Bad A$$!

As i always tell people, "it's not removable until you bolt it on first"

The rear rack is bolted on. You can leave it off if you like. I was actually looking at it today and was contemplating methods of beefing it up and creating a two up seat. looks like I would just need to weld on a couple of supports.

Hey Brainsquishy, how does your T3 run, i know most beast owners have changed to the mikuni carb, i know i have and it made a world of difference, how's yours with the stocker ?.

Um, to tell you the truth, I'm not sure.
I have been getting my buddies to drive it around behind the shop to break it in so I can use it when I have a moment. The couple of times I did drive it, it seems that it would really benefit from the new carb, plug and sprocket but I am waiting until I out drive the machine first. I have never owned or even driven one before, so its all new to me. (Late starter :( )
As more money comes in to the companies I have, the more coin for play toys like these. When i do the upgrade, it will be the full deal including the shocks.
The machine feels real solid though right now.

Yeah the shocks do make a big difference, the spark plug is the easy one, i believe the T3 engine is the same as the beast so it should be the NGK DR8ES-L ( canadian tire part # 018-3928-6 ). The stock carb on my sons 50cc and my girlfriends 110cc T1 have worked great but the one on my 200cc beast was not so good, the mikuni solved all that.

I received my t3 a few days ago, and have been having fun all weekend on it. It took me and a buddy about an hour to put it together (without instructions, they were missing..) it goes pretty decent, but I want to take the govenor off and am unsure how to do that.

OK, drove the T3 a fair bit today. Making trails in the forest (clippers and a chainsaw) and first gear through water 12" deep. I can see that the engine mods will be coming very soon. It could sure use that extra hp.

Waynev... how do you determine what the NGK plug should be? Is there a chart somewhere?

I found the NGK replacement plug #'s from other GIO owners and since our engines are kinda honda clones i also looked up the NGK plug # from an older honda XR 200.

(edit.....i guess i should have also said the recommended plug for the XR 200 also matches what others have said, the DR8ES-L ).
