ABS Brakes
Any of you dual sport guys have this? It looks like a potentially good idea.
I found it here: http://www.scooterparts4less.com/web...BS_Upgrade.htm

In the medical world we refer to that as a placebo.

I once got addicted to placebos.
Ok, I guess they're junk. I just hadn't heard of them before, and I know that there was an old school non-electronic anti-lock system available for cars. It seemed reasonable that they'd work on a bike.

Been a while but I seem to remember those being at fault for some back brake problems also......I prefer to be able to lock em up at times.
A proctologist can help You with Your placebo addiction W&G They have the only known cure.

There was a similar device marketed in the mid 70's called a "safe-t-braker", and yes, it was a complete failure as well. The Chinese seemed to think that if they put large stickers on the bikes and claimed it had "ABS" lots of people would assume it meant the electro-mechanic sort that works well.
Any claims of ABS braking are at best misleading and at worst illegal. Some more comments herehttp://clevelandscooters.com/id60.html and here http://2strokebuzz.com/2008/06/abs-scooter-brakes and here http://www.scooterfocus.com/scooter_abs.html

You mean the "mini NOS" bottles.
I have them. They do nothing, but look good. Allen

Yah nothing helps against bad drivers or riders, I for one will probably never do road rides unlessit is on along flat stratch or a very quiet sunday morning. I'll stick to the dirt where I'll only get killed by myself.

Those came standard on the front brakes of our bikes and I can grab the front brake lever as hard as I can and not lock the tire up while on the road.
Even so I dont really think they are needed. |
