Tank Khaos 350

I just stumbled on to this page and thought I'd share...

http://www.extrememotorsales.com/Tan...Motorcycle.htm

I'm not fan of Tank, even though I don't have any first-hand experience myself. I do think that's a pretty good looking bike and a welcome addition to the 'middleweight' market.

Your thoughts? 8)

3200 isn't bad, but seriously I have heard bad things about Tank (enough to keep me 50 feet back).

I would rather that "spark" 500cc thumper.

I agree, the Tank name gives more cause for concern than confidence. The page does say that this 350 is built by National Motors though, and Tank is simply the exclusive distributor of their (Xi branded) products in the US.

It would be interesting to know the reputation of National Motors. If it's not likely to need much support from Tank (which is where Tank seems to fall really short) then it might not be such a gamble.

Time will tell, I guess.

Looks like it's based on the LF200B

The engine seems to be like a Suzuki GN350 or GN400 of the mid 80's. The frame, or what can be seen of it, also appears to be Suzuki inspired, from the GS500. Looks good so far.

That is a very interesting motorcycle! This bike is manufactured in Taiwan, just like my 2007 Arctic Cat 250 Utility ATV. I am very pleased with the quality of my new "Cat," so I know that some exceptional products come from Taiwan. However, I think that $3,300 is too high an asking price for that motorcycle.

Doesn't look too bad. Maybe someone will take plunge.

I think I remember reading (or hearing) the Ninja 250 is also built in Taiwan.

Considering this bike isn't being built in China, I guess I put the thread in the wrong forum.
Sorry about that.
A mod may want to move this to the correct location.

No problema, SS. After all, this motorcycle is being marketed by Tank. I had to read the fine print to discover this bike was being manufactured in Taiwan. Also, the people in Taiwan are certainly Chinese! Thank you for alerting us to this interesting motorcycle.

I am considering adding another bike to my stable to combat a galloping mid-life crisis. As I approach my dead-by date I feel I ought to make the BIG TRIP on something decent rather than appear at the gates of wherever I'm going in a bargain basement Chinese bike.

One of the bikes I'm considering is a Triumph Bonneville SE, a classic, manly and butch, all-British bike. When I looked at it closer I discover this paragon of European Iron is made in...Thailand...yes, really.
