That looks nice! Destickering was one of the first things I did too. Although I left the GY on the tank.
I don't know if your state needs the EPA sticker on the back. Indiana isn't picky about that, so I pulled that off too. I drilled out about a 1 inch hole in the pipe. Your are right about the sound difference. No more sewing machine! If you drill any more holes out you might start noticing a flat spot in the power band. Just back the adjustment screw out a quarter turn on the bottom front of the carb. And if you put a free flowing air filter you will definitely need to adjust the carb. Maybe even rejet if you can find the jets. |

I was going to drill 1 big hole but being that I'm in Florida and it rains just about everyday in the summer I thought water might get in there and cause a problem..
I'm pretty happy with the way it sounds, not sure how much of a performance boost I would get with a pod filter anyone know? |

were your stickers clear coated in? cause when i pulled mine off, it left impressions shaped like the sticker on the panel... so lame.. so now i am in the process of sanding and painting ALL the panels flat black.. haha.

I sanded very lightly to feather in the remaining layer of clearcoat then applied another layer of clear coat over to try and match the thickness..
I think I'm gonna pull them off and paint them flat black too this weekend, it came out good but you can see where the GY used to be if you look closely.. I'll post some pics when I'm done, gonna leave the fork guards blue to match the seat, don't wanna be totally mad max... |

Look at member 'ACD's' bike in the gallery. He took a black Alpine and de-stickered it, leaving it very shiny and cool looking.
