200gy2 Timing adjustment

I was trying to find out how to perform a proper timing chain adjustment and tensioner adjustment but couldn't locate anything on the forum or on the web.

Could somebody please explain it for me or direct me to a post?

JoJo,

The Zongshen Sierra 200GY-2 has an automatic timing chain tensioner. If you check your 200GY-2 Motorcycle Maintenance Manual, you will find inspection procedures for this unit are described on page 32.

I believe the lifan/honda type engines are automatic too.

I have not verified it, but it also appears that the Zongshen 200GY-2 automatic timing chain tensioner is very similar, if not identical, to the same unit employed by the 2001 and later models of the Yamaha TW200 motorcycles. If this is the case, you can find more detailed instructions for inspecting and reinstalling this unit on page 29 of the following, Yamaha maintenance manual.

The pushrod motor is the most popular, but they also make OHC.
