brake problems--Question

Hello

Just found this website.

I purchased what I think is called the Zongshen MK150GY2. The rear brake is disc and has an anti-lock system attached.

Problem is, after a few minutes of riding, the pads begin to compress on the disc. Drive it further, and the rear wheel actually locks up. I have moved the brake fluid reservoir outside the frame, thinking the fluid was being heated and expanding due to close proximity to exhaust, causing the lock-up. This did not fix it.

I can only drive the bike a very short distance before it locks up.

I have no owner's manual, which doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bruce

This happened on my dad's gy5, and on my gy6 because the plunger on the master cylinder was nto adjusted right, it was just a matter of adjusting these bolts...

I would guess that your master isn't allowing the fluid back into it so it's allowing the pads to stick on to the disc...just my guess. It's not releasing your brakes completely

Thanks for the "heads-up". Sounds like I am not the only one with this problem at least.

My back rotor is black from heat.

Bye,

Bruce

I had a similar problem with my rear brake, although no lock up the fluid was leaking like a bitc$ out of the caliper, after removing everything making sure to have pumped the pistons out as much as I could I sprayed with brake cleaner put everything back bled in new fluid, adjusted all screws and bolts and bingo, no problems since, hope this helps dude1
