Xingyue 250 Enduro Available Now in US- gearbox issues

(Caution: see Mebigdave's posts on his gearbox failures on his Xingyue 250.)

Just spoke to Hanissi Motors in Florida and they do have these bikes. I was quoted $2,000 US for a dealer prepped DOT bike.

Looks nice !

But can it be trusted ?

The website looks awfully made, not like a company with a reputation to take care of !

And it says 56mph max speed, it's a 250 slower than a Lifan 200 !

Hummm, I don't know !

At least looks better than the others bike around besides the QLINK's

Nice looking bike and the price seems fair, might have to check into this one some more.
The website is still under construction and bike details are somewhat vague Do we have any forum members in Florida that can check them out?

Don't touch this bike - I have had so much trouble with mine it's not funny. Been through two gear boxes a carb and about 15 litres of oil!!!

Looks the part but is soft and won't last six months. I broke the second gear box in one day just push starting the bike in third.

Walk the other way - TRUST ME - I'm back riding my Shineray 200GLE with 20,000km's on it and it still starts up right away and does 130km a day without a hic-up

Yea I called the guy earlier and he didn't seem like he was running a solid business. Seemed like some fly by the night operation. Oh well, don't know until someone tries.

is this also the same guy on Ebay HANISSI MOTORS? He only has a feedback of 6 and 0 as a seller.....I would be careful.

Dave,

Wondering if you replaced the gear cluster or the whole engine? How did the original gearbox failure take place?

It does look nice.......

but no kick starter 8O
That is one of the main reasons I looked hard at the China bikes when I started shopping around.
I was stranded a few times in the 80's by the "reliable" electric start bikes from Japan :P
Heck, my Honda Turbo wouldn't even bump start without 12 volts feeding the computer :roll:

How many times have I used the one on my GY-5?
Exactly 2 and it kept me from a long walk home both times.
(dying battery that I knew should have been replaced, so my bad :oops: )

Plus the gearbox problems reported :(

My 4 cents (inflation and depressed markets) :wink:

Replaced the gearbox and used my barrel, head and and covers.

Was gearing down for a slow corner and it smashed and chipped every thing.

Front wheel the spokes started rusting from day one.

The frame is poorly painted as well at the tank.

The spot welded nuts on the frame stripped in no time.

The seat was as hard as a rock.

The slide in the CV carb kept getting stuck open making it difficult to pull off after stopping.

To remove the carb, you have to remove the sub frame and rear shock top mount.

The decals are just cheap stickers not decals at all.



The bike looks the part but the motor is soft. It pulls really well when going but that doesn't help if the gear box keeps smashing gears!!!

Because of the dry sump, there is an external oil feeder pipe which can be seen in the picture above, this pipe is made of copper and is chromed. I had this pipe crack/break on me three times before I had to make a new one out of steal brake tube!

I must have spent about $500 on degreaser, oil, hose clamps, a new carb, gasket sealer, gasket paper, engine heat paint and silver solder.

Oh and not to mention the throttle is made of plastic so the adjuster was stripped out.

Parts are interchangeable with a 2003 Honda XR250L
