Exhaust Leak Help

I did a search and didn't find this exact problem.
I posted this under my original Topic but don't think it was noticed.

I had noticed some black stuff on the right side of the starter before, but
had attributed it to chain lube "spraying" off. However, tonight I noticed
the clamp around the muffler where the 2 sections meet was a little loose
so I tightened it up, started the bike and there is exhaust shooting
out. It is shooting out right at the motor and starter.

How can one fix this??

Mine does this too. It helped a little when I put a new gasket in and coated it with Ultra Black RTV sealant, as Bruce from EJ Cycles suggested. I think it's a common problem with these bikes.

You can also get a hose clamp and tighten up on the pipe behind the stock clamp - double your chances of stopping exhaust blowing through.

Can you make a flange from a softer, thin metal?

To bad I cant find something like this (EasySeal Stainless Steel Clamp) to fit as I have thought this would be very useful at that exhaust point.
Sadly they dont seem to come any smaller than 2" diameter.

What is the gasket you are referring to?

I haven't taken it all the way apart yet so I am not aware of what is there.

Thanks everyone for your input. I will see what I can do.

Woohoo, not a newbie anymore 8)
