One A double S numbing ride!

Well to day I thought I would give some group riding a go. I road with the Louisville Scooter club. http://www.louisvillescooter.org Well I thought, scooters, how hard can they ride? Well I found out exactly how much they can ride.

We meet up at about 2:00 PM for what I thought would be a few rides around town and a stop for some snacks, boy was I wrong. I knew I was in trouble when I saw three of the scooters had TomTom GPS units. Well here is my report.

The bike did well and it hung in there as well as a dual Sport could do on knobby tires. I went through all gears at all speeds and I battled some really stiff winds. I had some sustained 55 - 63 MPH speeds. I started the trip with 58 miles on the trip meter and finished with 260 miles on the trip...that's right 212 miles total!! Man is my butt sore! I had to shift a lot on the hills and it was slowing me down some compared to the auto trannies of the scooters.

As a whole the other riders seemed to be fascinated that my china bike, trunk, and seat pad. I think they were surprised that I kept up with the Vespa and Aprilla scooters. The big guy in the photos was on a 500CC Maxi Scooter.

All in all a really good ride. I am convinced that I need more road like tires to smooth the ride out.

I am sorry the images are small but all I had was my iPhone.

THanks...
