Ironbutt: Bun Burner 1000... on a China bike.

Am I dumb?
Doesn't matter if I am, I'm going to do it anyway.
1000 miles in 24 hours.. mid July. My butt already hurts.

Good luck.

I doubt you can do 1000 miles in 24 hours you'd have to maintain a speed of around 45MPH with quick fuel stops.
Then there is the fatigue factor I know I couldnt do it now maybe when I was younger but no way now.

I think it is more of a "butt factor" than a "bike factor".

Depends on which model you're riding. The OHC versions would be fairly easy with a walmart atv seat cusion. Not that I care to do it though.

For me I think it would be more of the time in the saddle, 24 hours is just a long time unless you plan to only count the hours your awake.

I dont do to many all nighters anymore.

I guess if you rode fast enough you could put some serious miles behind you but I'm talking sustained speeds of 70-100+.
So expressway riding and not on a china bike.

As far as sitting on the bike for that long I think I could do it with supplemental padding and they seem to train/pay us at work to be able to sit for extended periods at a time.

If you do it get a GPS that has trace route on it and post the finished map so we can see, it would be interesting.

radio shack has a nifty little device that allows you to put a small "domino sized" black box on the vehicle that map, and take exact speeds of the trip. plan on getting one when my son gets old enugh to drive. If he is anything like me I will need it.

Once you pass the half way mark, be careful of "Get Home-itus"

It will get you home. But your focus becomes tunnel vision. Pulling off the road and stretching and doing jumping jacks helps. DON'T FALL ASLEEP! That's not a joke. I've become very drowsey on lonnnggg rides.

My china bike was way more comfy than my CB, less vibes too. I felt pretty good the morning after a long ride. Sit with your back straight, don't bother tucking. Prep the bike properly, follow the weather reports, get sleep before you go. I bet you make it, I know I would.

Don't be afraid to call it off and wait a couple days. No one will laugh. There is no pressure to try it. But if you do try it, because you want to test yourself and the bike, I'll bet $20 Canadian that you make it.
