HELP...bike idle jumped to 7000 rpm

Well i got my AMD stage 3 and installed...now i wish i would have never got the damn thing. Rode for a good 50 miles on and off and noticed a bit more pep and alittle more torque...no big deal

This morning I went to start the bike to ride to class and for some reason from last night till this morning, something happen to make the bike jump to a 7000 rpm idle. It was fine when I parked it. Needless to say I had to drive the truck. Got back from class and changed back to the stock cdi to hopefully fix the problem....no go. still idles around 7000. I even disconnected the batt. to hopefully reset something but nothing happen. I can't figure out what cause this to happen and I pretty lost.

Please does any one have any ideas??????

Is your throttle cable bound up or in some other fashion stuck?

not from what i can see. I think i will have to take the plastic off the tank to completely see if it is, unless i'm wrong about where the throttle cable is located. I will go do that right now. Any more ideas??

Very unlikey, but could someone be screwing with your idle screw?

no, i tryed to screw with the idle screw and no luck, i just pulled the plastic off and took the tank loose and discovered that when i move the throttle cable back and forth it affects the idle so i think it has something to do with that, however it doesn't seem to be bound or resticted.

I really freakin lost

Ok.....crisis averted for now. with the tank off i just pulled the cable far over to the left side and it suddenly stopped. I fooled with it alittle more to make sure all was still well and it seemed to respond fine. put the tank back on and the amd 3 back in and got the idle screw adjusted back in the right place and now i seem to be right around 1500 idle. I'm going to put it back togather and take it for a spin to be sure. For right now I think i have it fixed...(crossed fingers)

Thanks a million guys couldn't have done it with out you.

Sounds like a cable routing problem. Make sure you can turn fully both ways without it pulling the cable out of the carb.
