Which motorcycle insurance co.

I need to get this bike insured. Progressive is charging out the ass for my street bike insurance (old kz 650) so I don't want to go with them.

Does anyone out there have some other recommendations? I hear stories of $60 a year...

I have progressive minumum coverage insurance. $74/year.

Tell them it is for recreational use too. Not for commuting.

Also try Geico.

Don't have a street legal bike yet but I got a quote from Allstate for a recreational 200cc. 38$ a month for liability.

The liability on my Jeep is less than that.

It pays to be old and have a clean record.

I currently have progressive insurance on my cars. A month ago I called and asked for a quote for my KZ 650, they quoted me $380 per year. I told them that that price was ridiculous and that $60 per year was standard. The representative countered with a $180 quote. I told him no, that is still too friggin' high. He then lowered it again to $90. I took it just to get the a**h*le off the phone and go ridin'. Apparently the reps will quote you while adding options that you didn't ask for (maybe they get commissions?) I origionally told the rep that I wanted cheap liability only insurance.

I think a move to Geico may be in order here, another friend of mine recommended them.

I never even talked to anyone at Progressive. Got my quote and bought my policy online. Just selected brand as other then filled it in later in the process, very easy.

Yeah, they are a decent company, I just got hold of a bad rep.
