2 Free Easy Mods That I Approve of

After 25 miles of riding, there are 2 issues that bug me about this bike so I decided to fix them. For Cheap. For Cheaper than Cheap. For Free,,,,,,

First issue is the stock led headlight. I could not get it adjusted low enough. The adjustment screw is totally backed out but the light wont budge past a certain point. Turns out is was the outside of the clear plastic light bezel, running into the black plastic trim that surrounds it. I removed the light, cut some material away, stretched the tensioner spring a tad bit longer, and reinstalled. Worked perfect and now my headlight aim is more appropriate, especially for lower lit back roads and dark desert trails. See pics…..

Rackhole Pictures

The other issue was the rear rack. I typically would weld up a rack out of some scrap steel, paint it purty and be done with it. But this grab bar thing is rather large and mounts awkwardly and….Anyways, I just wanted to strap a small tool bag down on the stock “rack”. I have some nice stout plastic no scratchem bungees but just hooking them under the lip of the grab bar rack was not adequate at all. Nor was hanging the hook off the little “posts” on the underside of said rack. So I carefully drilled some holes thru the aluminum rack, being careful to avoid the cast in ribs (look at underside of rack)used for strength. Big difference. And before someone brings up the idea that the grab bar has been weakened, and certain catastrophic failure is imminent, it is only a grab bar. Not a crash bar, it is still plenty strong.
