Time for a battery on the KPX already

She's struggling to start. So I'm gonna get that Power Max AGM type or I may do some research on which YUASA AGM will fit it. I have always had really good and long service from YUASA batteries.

Are you sure it's due to a weak battery that it is struggling? Not needing a valve adjustment, plug cleaned/replaced, etc?

Dang that is a good deal for sure. I saw this post a bit to late. I had already ordered the Power Max and a new O ring chain. Thanks for the heads up though, I have added that battery to my watch list on Amazon.

It takes a 12N9-BS battery. Mine didn't last long either but Venom had sent out a replacement right away. https://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Max-Ba...ps%2C80&sr=8-2

Should be under some kind of warranty, Letsride.

Yeah I had thought about contacting Venom, But I fiigured they would send me the same shitty battery that it came with So I figured I would try another brand, it was only like 48 bucks so not really a big deal.

My RK o ring chain was delivered, except there was not chain in the envelope. It was open with a stamp from the post office that said " Received unsealed and contents missing " LOL SMH, why would Amazon send a heavy chain in an unpadded bag? Anyway they are sending me a replacement.

Battery PSA

Just a heads up when buying a battery:
Make sure the positive terminal is on the left like the OEM battery.
The way the battery support bracket is angled could cause the positive terminal
to make contact with the terminal
Also, the positive cable doesn't have much play, so It's not ideal to stretch it all the way across the front of the battery to reach.
Found this out after I ordered a battery from Amazon.
Was just about to put the cover back on and since the battery was smaller than the original, it shifted to the left a bit and I saw how close the positive terminal got to that bracket. I think I dodged a bullet.

Thanks for the Heads up Greg, Good info. I actually knew to check that though I've made that mistake in the past. And welcome to the Forum.

Thank You for the welcome. Yeah, for anyone else buying a battery, I think this will only apply if the battery is smaller than the original and moves side to side.
you can make it work if you shim the battery and or wire tie it, but if you didn't buy it already, just get one that has the positive terminal on the left.
Oh, and by the way, my original battery died within a week at just 150 miles.
I have 215 miles so far and everything else is fine.

This battery is a touch too tall. It will fit in the box but the battery hold down bracket won't go over it.

Not really a big deal, I just drilled another hole below the one that was already in the bracket. This worked like a charm. Just a heads up.

What I’m not understanding is just how much abuse I have put my battery through from Lifan and have had no problems with it.

like an idiot, I left it connected storing my bike for six months. Completely dead.

then I did it again! completely dead again.

I thought for sure that was the end. But I connected some jumper cables from my truck to the motorcycle started it up and everything is fine.

it’s really unbelievable to me how well these batteries hold up. Old lead acid batteries would have been gone long ago with the abuse I gave mine

Some batteries are just better than others I guess. The one that came in my Kpx, no so much unfortunately. But no big deal, it isn't like they are all that expensive. I'm glad you are getting good service out of yours. I tend to use things until they are no longer useable to me. Right now, I'm seeing how many miles I can wring out of the factory chain, I have new O ring chain on the shelf ready to go.
