Templar X 250 Oil Cooler.

I’m thinking about a possible oil cooler install on my new Templar X. Possibly a dual setup. The frame on the Templar X/M is designed to accommodate a radiator. I am hoping to mount one oil cooler on each side where the plastic air vent things are located. They are very easy to remove. Leaving a metal frame that is needed to attach the front of the gas tank shroud. Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I have dual cooler installed on my Hawk. It should be much easier on the Templar i would think. Looks like the templar has more room to work with.

Yes sir! The setup you have on your Hawk is what inspired me to do one on my Templar. As far as connecting the two. It’s just a hose from the outlet on the first one to the inlet on the second. Correct? May I ask were you able to purchase a kit with everything already supplied? Or did you fabricate yourself?

I originally had a single cooler. Megadan had donated the other cooler with hoses to me. But yes you are just connecting the two coolers in a series.

Yeah you can simply do them in series like Jerry. If you have the desire and ability you could put them in parallel with some Y fittings.

If you do want to go with dual coolers I would say try and use the stacked plate cooler style over the tube and fin. Tube and fin style coolers are much more efficient and you may find your bike will take a long time to get the oil up to temp with two of them (especially on cooler days). The stacked plate coolers don't cool as efficiently but are also much more durable.

This is an example of the stacked plate style. If you look at the second picture you can see how it is constructed https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycl...erId=101229043
