2022 Boom Vader bd125-10 clutch trouble
I received my BD125-10, assembled, drained out dirty oil, filled and drained oil again to clean out any junk, which there was a little. Filled with wet clutch 10w-40 motorcycle oil.
At first the clutch was meh, when shifting to first it would lurch a bit but wouldn't take off. after a few short rides it was harder and harder to shift. 2 miles total. Now it acts like there's no clutch at all. Shifting into first and the bike will either take off or just die. The cable is adjusted ok, when pulling the lever the clutch arm on the right side of the engine moves fully. Anyone have any suggestions or know of any known issues with the clutch on these bikes? I think I solved the problem. Adjusted clutch behind cover, via http://www.chinariders.net/showpost....0&postcount=14 I think the lock nut was loose and it was slowly backing out. The bike still lurches forward though, Last edited by dazoed; 07-20-2022 at 10:07 PM. Reason: Resolved problem |

Just double check your adjustment at the 3 adjustment points on the stock cable.
These things shift like crap out the box. I had to tighten my clutch lock nut and make the adjustment at the handle bars to get my clutch right. My original stock cable snapped so I installed a new one, hit the adjuster at the lever, tightened the clutch lock nut, I've been doing good ever since. You have to get some more miles on it to get rid of some of the crunchiness but if that doesn't do it then go further in the clutch and investigate your star shifter rod

You can't adjust these bikes like is typical with freeplay in the clutch lever. It has such a long range. Tighten the cable until it doesn't buck going into gear. Adjust is based on the springs in the clutch not the spring on the clutch arm. Change the oil often for the first 500 miles till the gears wear in.
