Hey All!

Hello everyone! My name is Mavrick, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Memphis, TN. I just found out about ChinaRiders.net through a couple of YouTube videos somehow so I thought I would check it out. My reason being interested in Chinese bikes is because of the two bikes that are for sale down the road from me. All I know is that they are Cool Sports 200GY. One red, one yellow. I wasn't exactly sure as to whether or not Cool Sports was Chinese seeing as to how I can't find ANYTHING on Cool Sports via a search engine. However, I did realize that they are very similar if not exactly the same as a Lifan 200GY-5. Anyways, they are 2007 models with 36 miles on one with 19 miles on the other. The guy is selling them for $1,000 a piece however I'm pretty sure I can get one for $900. I was wondering whether or not that they would be worth purchasing for daily commuter around town. I've heard a lot of bad stuff from critics however I figured it'd be wiser to just ask riders that actually ride Chinese bikes, if Cool Sports is even Chinese.

So, woot! What's up!

If you can get it registered then the price is good. They are pretty much rebadged lifans.

If you buy one go through the prep guide found in the dual sport section.

Oh yeah, he has the titles so he could just sign the one that I want to buy over to me, then I get insurance on it, and take it to get a tag right?

I'm sure I can, seeing as to how he has the titles, he has insurance on the bikes, and he already had his own Arkansas tags on the bikes. So I'm pretty sure it would be a breeze.

Preperation guide, right. I'll have to check that out.

Being able to get a title in your name is what I meant. If you can then a new bike for $900 is a pretty good buy.

Alright, sweet.
I edited the above post about the same time you replied.

I'm stoked, my dad is sending me a check in the mail for $1,000 today, so hopefully I'll have the bike in my name by Friday.

Cash talks. Start out low and save some money for a helmet.

Oh, haha. For us it's going to be more like Son's Day. lol
But yeah, you know how yesterday was Mother's Day? Well, I texted my mom at 12:01 saying Happy Mother's Day I love you, blah blah. Anyways, I missed the family pictures yesterday, so late last night I went to where you she worked and put a whole lot of balloons in her car and left a boquet of flowers with a card in her seat. Just thought I'd spit that out.

But yeah, this Cool Sports brand. Is it legit? I mean, where is this Cool Sports coming from? I can't find anything on Cool Sports.

If they ask at the DMV or for insurance tell them its a Lifan.

The cool sport brand is just one of the many different names that some importer gave the bike.

It was built by lifan most likely.

Just make 100% sure on the title before you buy.

What do you mean by make 100% sure on the title?
You mean, make sure it's a real title and it matches the bike I'm purchasing?

Alright, I'll remember the Lifan part.

I am not sure how strict TN is on motor vehicle sales, but you don't want to buy something you can't register.

If the seller already has a TN title in his name then it should be pretty easy to transfer it.

If he only has a MSO (Manufacturers statement of Origin) then it may be more difficult.

Is the seller a dealer or a private individual.

We are just trying to help you avoid any hassles.

If they're already titled, it's definately worth it.

If the title & reg paperwork is in order, it's a good deal....

Good luck with your decision.

Um, just to straighten something up, not that it's a big deal or anything, but my home is in Marion, AR however Memphis is the town I do everything in such as shopping and going to the movies, etc. I just claim Memphis. If you look on a map Memphis, TN and Marion, AR are touching. I can see the Pyramid from my backyard. Anyways.

It's not from a dealership, even thought the bikes were bought from a dealer, I think from Tennessee, but it's from a private seller. This guy said he bought them for him and his wife and he said they rode them just a little bit but his wife is scared of it and he doesn't want them, blah. But yeah, he said he got insurance on them for 15 bucks every three months, (Which leads to another question) and he had Arkansas tags on them so I'm pretty sure I can get it registered.

Couple of questions..
What's the best motorcycle insurance company?
How much do you think it would be for me? Keep in mind I'm a 17 year old Male.
And if I were tell the dealership it were a Lifan, won't they ask for the VIN number? And what if they can't find Cool Sports. I'm not sure how the guy did it.
And how do I go about getting my motorcycle's license? I know I could just go up to the place where I got my driver's license and they can just test me for Type M, I think it is? Anyways, how do you go about getting your motorcycle license? What will I need to know, and what will I need?
I would like to just go take a MSF course at the college because I know they give you your license after the course, but I personally don't have $175 bucks to spend on that course.

Sorry, my mind is wondering everywhere at the moment and I'm sure this isn't a very clear post. Any input is appreciated.

Oh, also how can I convince my dad that a Chinese make isn't a piece of crap? lol
