Hey y’all!
Hi! I’m looking to buy my first dirt bike so I can ride with my son. Grandpa decided my son needed a bike, and I’d hate for him to ride alone, it’s just not safe…at least that’s what I tell the wife lol.
So like everyone I started at Amazon looking at the X-pro 250. Delved deeper into the YouTube Hawk 250 rabbit hole. I’m watching those videos I found this place and decided I’d ask before I bought. I’m currently stuck between a hawk 250 or an Apollo db-36 from Orion, but I don’t really know any better options in that price range. I’m not too worried about registration here in Oklahoma. These things are normally pretty simple here. Anyway, glad to be here! |

I ordered an xpro Titan. Seemed to be the best compromise for me. The Orion was better but maybe not worth the extras to me. The Apollo was a close second pick but I thought the titan would suit me better.

I keep coming back to the different suspension and OHC motor on the Apollo. Seems like it would lend itself better to tinkering. I got my pill of pushrod motors playing with my old LS1 Camaro, OHC seems better all around.

I believe all bikes mention are OHC, the titan is for sure. Suspension wise the Orion is tops.

I was under the impression that the Hawk and it’s variants with the same motor used a cam-in-block, pushrod style motor?
