TT250 Pannier details for Flopsweat
Flopsweat,
The PM wouldn't let me post photos, so here are some. I will follow-up with more once they download to my Gmail off my phone. These photos have measurements for the pipe and show how the stand-offs are made. The close-up photo of the mount at the rear footpeg location is typical of the others. After these photos were taken I replaced the "LB" EMT connector on the rear crossbar with ones from Makerpipe.com. Both sides have identical measurements. However, I did have to change the right side "stand-offs" to about 1/2" to 3/4" longer because I had to move my muffler out that far to clear my non-stock tire (a 120-90-16). If you don't change tire width this won't be an issue. The panniers are Nelson-Rigg. They strap on the rack and also have straps that go between. I ran one strap behind the seat and the other under the seat, so no one could steal the panniers. These straps also carry the load, while the ones on the rack just stabilize and keep the panniers away from the tire.

Oh that is fantastic, thank you so much for all the details. That doesn't seem too hard to replicate, and gives me a fun project until the weather gets warmer around here. I definitely wanted to do the panniers at some point but probably wouldn't have been able to devise that design. Seems like it would be easy to figure out spare gas can mounting points too. The goal is to get out motocamping by next summer, so we'll see if I can pull something off here.
