125 gear swap

I picked up a Tao 125d with the FNR transmission and electric start. After splitting the case, I found the forward gears stripped. I also have 4 speed kick start engine for parts. The shafts do not interchange because the diameter on the end where the shaft goes into the bearings are larger on the 4 speed (it has needle bearings, the FNR has ball bearings).

Is it possible to swap a 3 forward 1 reverse, or a 4 forward gear set? How would I know what parts are correct when ordering, as it seems that almost no websites provide dimensions.

Yeah it is possible you just gotta make sure that everything is correct size wise I've been really wanting to do that to my sons 125 quad motor that had forward neutral reverse and I wanted to get a 3 speed with a reverse I ended up just buying a new motor but I have that spare 125 for neutron reverse that I want to change to 4 speed for minor standing most of the gears the same you just have to change the shift drum Shift forks and obviously the main Countershaft possibility cases not 100 thoI have not done it but I watched the video on YouTube let me link it for you not perfect but should get you in the right direction
