Whats the difference between these bikes

Both sold by vbikes.us

The first is a 250cc ENDURO

http://www.vbike.us/index.php?page=s...s=&pz=&scid=41

The second is a 250cc GY

http://www.vbike.us/index.php?page=s...s=&pz=&scid=68

Need to learn the difference between these two bikes. Looking for a new bike to ride as a commuter, and really like the look of the Zongshen Sierra 200 or the Shineray XY200GY but cant find a dealer for either of them, and think the 250cc would be better for me.

Any ideas would really help me, want to make a purchase within the next two weeks.

Thanks guys

Well some things that jumped out at me were the rear brakes, the front forks, the gauges.
Of course I didnt go thru every picture or compare every spec.

Most of it comes down to price and your personal preferences.

We have one of each, kind of, 1 Hi-Bird and 1 Hi-Bird/Ricardo. Ricardo appears to be same as Komoto. As mentioned, rear brakes, forks, guages and also tires. The Ricardo sits about an inch taller and has a more quiet exhaust. Ricardo came with a 50t sprocket and Hi-bird a 46t. Other than that pretty much the same...

A buddy and I just got two of the komoto's. Nice bikes for the money. I had to work a couple of electrical bugs out of mine. When they pushed one of the plugs together, they shoved one of the pins out the back of plug, so it didn't make contact. It was the one for the headlight and tail light. The problem I am having now is with the MVA, trying to get them on the road  . Ordered mine from Anamcycles.

I think that Komoto and Hi-Bird have the same 46 t rear. Ricardo just wants to do things a little different, I guess

Yea that probably right. The plastic is slightly different also, but I didn't go into that because it might just be a Ricardo thing also.

The hibird has some simpler features.

Standard forks, drum rear brake, etc. The USD forks are pretty for looks and the rear disc brakes have a tendency to need attention due to sticking.

For a commuter I would save the $150 in price and get the hibird. Use that money for some gear.

I swear there was a thread just lke this one a couple weeks ago....Wierd

I'd go with the GY..The plastics look better and the parts look like newer ones while the other bike seems to have the older parts that a lot of the China bikes used to share.....That could be an upside when looking for replacements though.

For some reason, the photo of the Hi-Bird is a photo of an older model GY, like the Runmaster or something. However, as you scroll down, the company included dozens of photos of the actual bike in a gallery. It is just like the Komoto-Motors in looks, except it has drum rear brake and standard forks, and has the 'Hi-Bird' logos, while the Komoto has 'Komoto-Motors' logos and has USD forks and a rear drum, hence the $120 difference.

Actually, looking at the gallery, the Hi-Bird seems to have the better instrumentation than the pricier Komoto. :?
