Walmart Super Tech full synthetic 20W50 V twin oil?
My Brozz is right at about 1000 miles, and I am going to be changing the oil, and adjusting the valves. I went to Walmart yesterday ,and intended to buy a gallon of Rotella full synthetic ,but came across some Super Tech (Walmart brand) full synthetic motorcycle oil for about $5 a quart. I picked up a quart. It is labeled as V Twin 20W50. I was wondering if any of you use this oil, and also I would like to mention it to let others know about it ,if it's new.

I've used it several times.

Walmart doesn't make their own oil. It used to be made by SOPUS, then they switched to Exxon for a bit, and now it's made by Warren Manufacturing.
SuperTech oil is good oil. Anyone who tells you otherwise is probably just biased because Walmart or something. If anything, that stuff is overkill. For whatever reason, everywhere gouges on the cost of quarted Rotella versus the gallon jug. |

Project Farm, who does videos testing oil on U tube, has done testing with Vehicle Super Tech oil against some major brands and what I saw was it had some surprisingly good results against some serious name brands. He uses Super Tech in his own vehicles so for a guy who does the oil testing he does that talks!

An oil thread with no strong opinions?? What is wrong with everyone here??? Lol
It's good oil, probably 5 times better than what these engines were designed to run on and probably 10 times better than what 3rd world riders are using in their bikes right now. Lol

I just switched to that weight and style of oil (but Amsoil brand) and it instantly cleared up a problem I had since day one getting to neutral. From day one until the switch, I was using Rotella t4 15w40

Oil change interval is worth worrying about more than is this brand or that brand better or worse. Unless you're gonna send your oil off for analysis or can find some data online, you're gonna get anecdotal advice. Which is perfectly fine, I've run supertech oil in various things without issue. I currently run Rotella in my Hawk.
As previously mentioned, it's probably light years ahead of whatever they're running these on in 3rd world countries (used vegetable oil?) :-)

I use the Walmart oil in my 2021 Ural gear up instead of the $15 a quart MOTUL they recommend, works awesome.
I will be using it in my TBR7 when it gets here. |

To me the finding neutral problem seems to be heat related more that anything. When I work my hawk hard it gets contrary about going into neutral.
Maybe an oil cooler helps with this?

Installing an oil cool will eliminate the issue for the part. I hardly ever have a problem finding neutral on any of my bikes once I installed the cooler.

That's funny, once I got my clutch adjusted I have a harder time finding neutral when the bike is cold. It seems like after 20 or 30 minutes of hard riding I'm ALWAYS finding neutral... usually when I'm not looking for it.

I can have that problem too. Call it "neutral finding me." Clutch fade can be an issue when it gets hot, and then make it more difficult to shift and sometimes is very subtle and hard to tell. An oil cooler could make a difference.
