CRF230F ebay exhaust mod

This exhaust does not fit a 2021 TBR7 correctly.

The head pipe flange bolt spacing is too narrow.

The midpipe mount tab is pretty far off unless you push about 4 inches of the head pipe into it.

The can mount tab is REALLY far off from the stock mount.

It could be horsed and tweaked and use long straps or whatever and it would go on, but it's not a good fit at all and thats not how I roll.

First I will reverse the guts in the can to move the tab to the other end. While doing this I will also take a couple inches off of it.

I dont like the polished straps they rivet to it so I will leave those off, and the orange anodizing of the end cap doesnt match my bike at all so itll turn black before reassembly.

I have intense ADD so this could take a few days to finish while I work on 458 other things. Figured I would post a thread for anyone interested. Thanks for reading.

Edit: Max pic file size of 195kb? How does anyone here post pics? I dont know of any phone that takes pics that small. I must be missing something.

It can definitely be made to fit with slight modification as I and many others have done on the Brozz, Hawk etc.. heres a link i reviewed before installing: https://radpaul.weebly.com/brozz-and-hawk-250.html
But your solution sounds interesting, would love to see a write up thread once you finish with review

It's actually made of good materials. Other than the black plastic cap on the end (which is not bad either) it's on par with FMF. Thick wall, very nice welds, real stainless (have a few melted cobalt drill bits to prove it) and even the packing material is quality. Tuned and fitted it should be a really nice exhaust.

Need to get this pic thing figured out if anyone has advice.

I usually email to my laptop and then open with MS Paint and resize to 40-50% and save as jpeg and then upload.. otherwise you can search for a mobile app to crop or compress the file

Nice. I'll write that down.

Yeah that seal.is like windshield urethane or something. Tough stuff. I knocked the rivet halves into the can and smacked the stainless inlet on the carpet in my shop and it dislodged it enough to engage it without damage.

Nothing on these is particularly fragile, and the easiest thing to damage would be the finish on the can.

P.S. honored to have your 4th post in 7 years on my exhaust thread.

Yeah. None of that is gonna happen.

We can't just upload pics? Bummer.

No wonder i see so many youtube vids posted here. Easier to upload a video and link it than it is to upload a pic with a size that reflects the current year. Maybe I'll just do slide show videos and link those.

Now I cant even get a youtube preview to show up. Can someone explain please, this is very frustrating
