Hawk 250 DLX EFI shock

Getting ready to install the 290 shock to lower the bike. Is it supposed to be the same overall length as the black original? Also do I have to do anything that involves this little air nozzle? How is it mounted where it doesn't interfere with the fuel filter?
Does anyone have a picture of their original compared to a 290 replacement?
