I also just recieved my TBR7 monday. It's been fun wrenching on it, to get it ready for a long life. Just go ahead and buy a jet kit for it. It's running too lean from factory, to the point the cat glows red in about a minute or two of riding it.

Congrats, my son decided to keep the TBR7, so now I have to order another one, or get a hawk!

Here's him riding it tonight

Just put a VM 26 Mikuni Carb on my 2020 TBR7 today. Used 110 Main Jet. Wow, Woke this bike up. Runs better than i expected ,doesn't bog or stall in 1st gear anymore. Still working with tuning it in. I didn't want to have to Mod the P30 it came with, will use that as a back up if needed. Highly recommend this mod.

That's what I did with my first Hawk, and why I personally recommend it over the jet kits. Much easier to setup and get these CG engines running strong right out of the gate.

I also bought and am in the process of assembling the TBR7 and am using that as a checklist of stuff to do while assembling...
So far I have done
Grease assemble Front/Rear Axle, Rear Susp Pivot points swing arm, Oil Change, battery charge and install, Chain adjust, Loctite Left side....

I am doing the Valve adjust, Clutch adjust, loctite right side tonight and Carb/Jet Swap, Fork Oil, brake fluid change, lube cables tomorrow.
Bearings and front/rear sprockets (changing those bolts to actual Honda bolts) when the back one arrives..

I would guess it's about 10-15 hours of wrench turning now but many more hours of trouble free operation later....

Plus you really get to know your bike this way and YES I did find a few nuts/bolts that were not exactly tight so.... I feel as though there is nothing I haven't taken apart on the bike at this point.

One other thing i did that made a big difference was changed that spark plug. Got rid of that D8RTC 115529. Replaced it with a NGK iridium DPR8EIX-9 2202 not much difference in performance, but you can feel it. The biggest thing is in starting the bike. Even with a low battery, it fires right up. Seems to idle much better too. Even from a dead cold start I don't even have to use the choke. I'd recommend this ignition upgrade. The lead acid batteries these bikes come with are junk, this is a great equalizer for under 10 dollars.
