Just pulled the trigger on a hawk

Just pulled the trigger on a hawk 250 from TXpowersports 1600 out the door with tax and title and plates. Now it's time to clean up the garage to make room. Any advice on getting it insured? I have progressive insurance. I will keep everyone updated with the progress hopefully we can all learn from each others missteps and Successes.

Congrats man. I got state farm insurance. All I got is liability though, cost me $10 a month. Having full coverage was outrageously expensive for a bike I payed $1,400 for. Good luck

Good choice on the motor cycle. Hundreds of them have been on here, some owners to ask one question and then never to be heard from again. But this forum has lots of people willing to answer your questions and help you with your adventure...ARH

Geico has done me right. It’s 100$ a year. That was for 1 motorcycle. When I added the second it didn’t even change! Stayed 100$ a year. Not complaining!

I have the carb, jet kit , exaust, and sprockets in my Amazon cart. Should I order them now and install when I Assemble the bike or should I wait until I have a couple hundred miles on it .I also picked up lock tight blue in a chapstick and zerk fittings and a tap for the swing arm and Steering head.

Here's an alternative to tune stock carb and other things

https://www.ebay.com/itm/303077495104

Check out the other few items for Hawk as you might find something useful for you.

I you have the money I would just go ahead and do everything while you are doing your assembly, that is what I did. Will save you some work later when you could be riding it and having fun

Are you getting to delivered to your house? Remember to make the driver wait while you take off the cardboard box. It comes off pretty easy. You need to see if there is any damage before accepting the delivery and letting him leave. The driver who delivered mine didn’t mind. He actually helped me get the box off.

I got my new carb today but my jet kit comes on Friday. I plan to install the new carb over the weekend. Getting nervous to start mine up for the first time.
