Went For A Spin and Some Carb Info

Could not resist and had to take the Magician for a quick run today. Bike is running incredible with the stock modified carb. Steady idle at 1450, no hesitation at any throttle input or rpm. Pulls itself in first with no throttle.

Also want to mention the stock carb looks better quality than the fake Mikuni.

Some pics of the NGK spark plug also.
Note, these are not official Plug Chops, just an idea of general running.

Below is some info on my stock carb.

Stock Magician Carburetor
I'm at about 150 ft above from sea level
Temp today 41 degrees w 45% humidity
Exhaust and foam air pod filter mod
Drilled stock pilot jet a fraction of a hair, I think if I left it alone it would be OK
2 1/4 turns out on the fuel screw below
Main jet I drilled with 1.2 mm drill bit (size seems the same as a Gen 120 Mikuni
4 thin washers on the needle
Have the idle when warmed at at 1450 rpm
Engine temp got up to 238 degrees with semi hard pulls 1-5 running for about 20 minutes
Temp was with digital temp gun at the spark plug base area and after I came to a stop and idled for about 10 seconds

Stock carb can easily be changed jetted and I’m looking at a basic kit for small money to sell
PZ30 non I’ve seen really are better or worse except ability to tune
Hence a simple kit is enough
