tt250 rear end failure
this is what happens when the rear sprocket bolts either come loose or come stripped form the factory ... new rear rim ... new swing arm and chain adjuster.

Was it considered to be warranty?

Hopefully you didn't get tossed from the bike and hurt from that insane failure... could have easily locked up or twisted funny and "whip/throw" you off the bike

Ouch. At what mileage did this happen? Had you done any work to the bike, such as changing sprocket?

the failure
so i was going about 45mph when this happenned thankfully one bolt held in and i was not tossed from the bike. i had csc put the 47 tooth sprocket on when i bought the bike and it happened at about 3000miles on the odo there was no lock tight on the bolts and they vibrated out im guessing and or they were cross treaded by the guys at csc simple mistake im not mad it gave me some quality time tinkering to fix it and it was all covered under warranty so it was basically a free fix i did however have to send back the old rim. only issue i ran into with the replacement parts is the bolts they sent to put the sprocket on the new rim were too long so i had to go to the hardware store and get some m10 by 1.25 studs and cut those because they also were a hair too long.... the ones csc sent wernt the best quality for the application anyways and id rather not have this happen again so some good bolts and lock tight should fix it.

It's been my experience with these that the metal in the hub is very gummy. When I changed my TT250 sprocket, I had to be super careful pulling them, then I ran a tap down them to clean them out. They had a white type of locktite in the holes and the threads weren't the prettiest once extracted. I used my own bolts and blue locktite upon reassembly. I've now been inspired to check them.

MegaDan put a thread together that lists the Honda parts to fix that problem. It's been a recurring problem with some of the other CB's as well.

dose the hawk motor have a cushing unit in the clutch basket...
springs between the alloy basket & backing gear.. my XT660 has both in the basket and rear hub..but the TTR250 has no cush drive at all... most 250cc bikes don't need a cush unit as the engine braking effect between power strokes is not big enough to create a lot of back lash in the drive train when you come off the throttle... ..
