Mikuni carb?

There is a vacuum port right next to the fuel line, to the left of it. What vac line is suppose to go there and what vac line should go on the intake port? Thanks

As near as I can tell, you have a Mikuni VM22-clone carb with the fuel screw located in front of the float bowl, underneath the intake , is that correct? If so, the ports you're referring to are just breather vents, not vacuum ports. The hoses just hang down under the carb, like the float bowl drain hose.

That is correct. Heres a pic

I have both blocked now and I finally got this bike going good. I tried every jet from #125 thru #95 and after days of pulling my hair out I finally got it. Ended up with # 100. During this taxing ordeal, I took the whole bike apart and went over all the wiring and did find 1 wire that had come un-connected and a couple vac leaks. If I can leave these pluged then that's fine by me but if the should have vac lines than I need to put them on.

The port on the carb cannot be blocked off, it has to be left open. Run a length of hose long enough to ziptie it to the float bowl drain hose and let it hang down.

The port on the intake should be blocked or sealed off to prevent air leaks that will lean out the mixture.

What is the port by the fuel line for? I got it tuned running good with it blocked, leaving it open the idle surges 1K to 2500 non stop.

It equalizes the air pressure in the float bowl area so the fuel can flow. It does the same thing the little vent cap does on a gas can when you pour the gas out.

hose

it is the drain hose if it over flow past the needle and seat for the float inside... BUT If it runs better with it plugged in your case ,... then run with it... it is your bike,, and if your happy with it,.,.,. stay with it,..

I opened it up all is still good. Thanks for all the input from everyone. I guess when I installed the bigger carb, I was thinking it would be plug and play like it has been for some others. Rude awakening for me but at least now I know how to take 90% of the bike apart and put everything back as I had to do chasing down all the gremlins that haunted me. Now I can get going on my other none engine related mods finally.

Whisky- It's always a bummer when you have problems but on the bright side, as you said now you know what it was, got it fixed, and learned how to take 90% of the thing apart and put it back together again so now you won't be worried about that again, and that knowledge will come in handy again and again. Now you can move on to mods n stuff you "want" to do, which is the really fun part !
