Race Tech Cartridge Emulators

I emailed Race Tech to see if they carried any cartridge Emulators that would fit the Hawk 250. Here’s the response I received:

We do not have any fitment for the Hawk 250, if we had a set of the forks we might be able to fit something to them.

Thank you,

I don’t suppose anyone has a set of Hawk 250 forks that I/we could borrow? What’s the going price for a set of forks? I looked at one of their charts and they listed 4 different Emulators that measured 23.8. Three of them have some sort of adaptor.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

While I do like Racetech products, and have them in my bikes, MegaDan has a solution that is easy and the same as Racetech. Cheaper as well. Check out his thread on the PD valves. I think he has a youtube vid as well.

I used YSS PD238 fork valves/emulators, but they are almost impossible to find in the U.S. I had to order mine from Germany through ebay.

On thing you could do is reply to them with a question in regards to thier current valves and inform them that the fork tube inner diameter is 24mm and the spring diameter is 23.5mm. They may or may not need the spring inner diameter as well.

Thanks Guys!

Hey MegaDan and Ben2go,
I think I was just trying to reinvent the wheel! Ok, I didn’t want to have to wait for the YSS cartridge Emulators to come from Germany. Side note: Back in 1981, my dad was stationed at the Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, Alaska. If the local store(s) didn’t have what you needed, you went down to the Sears catalog outlet. Once you placed your order, it took about 2-3 weeks to get it. If it arrived broken, or the wrong size or color, it was another 2-3 weeks! Yeah, kids today would not be able to survive there!

Well, I went ahead and ordered the YSS cartridge Emulators from Germany! I have been watching your video MagaDan! Any chance of you making and selling those spacers? Wink, wink!

Thanks again!
