taotao 250 diy poly swingarm bushings

My swing arm bushing were shot and I didn't want to go back with the cheap china bushings and the machine shop wanted to charge 50 to make 2 bushings so I ended up finding these poly bushings at autozone for 15.00 and made them work.

1.remove old bushings from your swing arm.
2.use a torch to burn the rubber out of the old bushings to use the center sleeve
3.i used a dremel to resize the center hole for the center sleeve leaving it abit smaller for a tight fit.
4.you will need to trim a very small amount on the outside of the poly bushing to make it fit inside the swing arm I used a grinder.
5.use 2 bushings pre side knock them in the swing arm then knock the metal sleeve in
6. reintall the swing arm enjoy never replacing that bushing again and having no play causing your chain to jump off.

When I needed swingarm bushings for my quad, I took the old bushing to the local Yamaha shop, and they brought out the box that contains all of their bushings. I found a perfect match that was intended for a PW70, although it had a much thicker inner and outer sleeve with a higher durometer elastomer in between. They have been in place for nearly 10 years now. The best part is that (at the time) they were only $8.00 each.

Thanks and I did find one that worked from a hibird dirtbike online.

I can appreciate that. Whenever I went into a Japanese motorcycle shop for parts, I would never tell them that it was for a China bike. Kept that on the DL.
