Pz27 carburetor in 200cc engine
Hi
Is it possible to effectively use pz27 carburetor in a 200cc water cooled engine? Or is it too small for it? If it can be used what could be the jet numbers etc. I have swapped engine. Earlier it was 125cc cg replica air cooled engine now it is using 200cc liquid cooled ohv engine 163ML series. Regards |

Oh, PLEASE show us pictures of that swap! While at it, please show us a pic of the carb, so we can be sure to guide you properly.

So cool!
I'd say that a PZ27 will be fine, but I'd still encourage you to show us a pic of the carb.

Temperature with fans on is below 75°C. Here is a pic of carb. It's ptg keihin pz27. It is using stock jettings meant for cg125 clone.

I moved your thread from the ATV section to Street, where it will hopefully get more attention.
I normally use a Mikuni carb, since the 30mm is so cheap and plentiful, and because jets are easy to find. As a result, I'm not sure how to guide you with Keihin jetting. A Mikuni that is tuned near sea level will use a slow jet that is around 30, whereas a Keihin will require around 40, IIRC. I'm not sure what size main jet to recommend. Perhaps someone else will chime in.

Keep in mind that this is just a orifice size comparison, and they don't translate exactly. That said, this is accurate enough that it should help translate between the two. Fine tuning is always recommended. As far as the size. The 27mm should work perfectly fine on a 200cc engine for street duty. I would personally go with a 30mm PZ30 as it will definitely be a better carb choice for the top end of the RPM range. The great thing about these carbs is that they are so cheap, so if you want to try a PZ30 it will cost you about 20 bucks lol. You can also give the PZ30 accelerator pump carb a try if you have a hankering for nearly instant throttle response.

PTG is another animal that had ACV (air cut valve) build in.
Auto translation http://pttread.com/biker/m-1306894870-a-47f from Google Chrome will tell u something.

Here are some more pics of the pz27 carburetor. Note the missing mixture adjustment screw near the bottom of the float and also the missing tiny hike in the venturi of carb near the exit area of carb.
But there is another adjustment screw on the side of carb. And it's inaccessible for adjustment when the mounting nut is there. Lol. |

The adjustment on the side that engages with the slide is the idle screw. Since the pilot mixture screw is missing, it's a good time for a new carb. Here's what I've used on several 200cc engines: https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Mikuni-...1aoZVF&vxp=mtr
The trivia that I can contribute about Mikuni jets is that they are tied to SI (or Metric). In other words, a 100 main jet = 1.00mm. A 27.5 slow jet is 0.275mm, and so on. That info is very handy if you intend to drill jets out to custom sizes as I do.
