My Mind is made up! Apollo DB-X18!!

I've made up my mind. If I can get my dealer to get one, I'm gonna ride down to Atlanta Saturday morning and pick up an Apollo DB-X18! I think the thing should carry me around just fine. I just want something to bump around the trails and woods with my son on his new SSR 70. At $650 its cheap enough so why not? Heck I may slap a 190cc motor in it one day.

Congrats! That will be great for putting around on the trails with your son. It would be great if it came with the 190. Future project

Well because it's cheap I guess! Its 650 bucks if I pick it up from my dealer in Atlanta. It has a 32" seat height so it should fit me good. I also like the way the frame is built too. And I also love the horizontal engines. Something to tinker with and putt around on the trails with my boy! There will be another Brozz in the Stable also. Kourtney told me today that Peace Sports still doesn't have them off the slow boat yet.

Yes Sir, I've been eyeballing them 190cc engines. Pricey, but that Pirhana or Pitster Pro 4V engines get my gears turning! We will see what happens, hehe!

Congrats on the purchase! I have seen the crate engines offered, and they do get pricey, but pricey is a relative term considering you could have a pretty fast bike for about $1300

Its a done deal. Kourtney will have the bike tomorrow. I will go pick it up Saturday Morning. So now I gotta assemble two bikes, LOL. Gosh I love this hobby! The good thing with the APollo is, it seems they come with the forks removed from the triple tree for smaller crating. I think this is a plus in my mind, as I can change the fork oil before I ever install them in the trees. Pics to come!

I went and picked up the Apollo DB-X18 this morning. I've been tinkering with it since I got back from Atlanta. My overall impression of this bike is, OUTSTANDING! These are some really well put together bikes. The frame itself look VERY strong. I love the swingarm and the way the chain tensioners are. It has USD forks, break away (spring loaded) levers and some VERY thick handle bars. They look to be 1 inch or so. The seat cover is textured and has ribs stitched into it the entire length of the seat. The seat also has a quick release screw on the top at the back of the seat. The engine is a good looking unit with a skid plate and a nice break away (spring loaded) shifter. And the valve lash was SPOT ON at .003 int. and .004 exh. The rockers had blue machinist marking paint on them. Tells me it had some what of some Q.C. I am missing the lower rear shock bolt and nut. I'll pick one up at Lowes in the morning. All in all I totally dig the bike. And for 650 bucks I smiled all the way home. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE me some China Bikes? I'll post up some pics tomorrow.

Looks like it's well made. We need a picture of you riding on the bike for size comparison.

Seriously, "slow boat" is an understatement, I think they have the thing in reverse

Sure thing, I will get some posted. Its rainy today so maybe tomorrow. Its not as big as a Hawk, It is as tall just shorter wheel base. It actually isn't too bad to ride around for me, it doesn't feel tiny at all.

So it's tall enough that you don't look like a circus bear riding a tricycle? How is it for power?
