Noob from Fl

Yup, another noob from Floriduh. I am new here, but not new to bikes. I ride sportbikes and dual sport mostly. I am here primarily to check out dual sport options for my vertically challenged SO. The Japs don't offer much for her that is street legal in the way of a dual sport. I have her riding my TW right now, but even that is a bit tall for her and she has to one foot it. Hopefully there is a small China bike that will fit the bill. It would be used primarily off road with the plate just keeping it legal on forest roads and in campgrounds.

If you have any suggestions they would be appreciated. She has a 28" inseam. Barely.

Scott

I tell ya, I wish just one manufacterer would step up to the plate and offer a small. low-slung, lightweight bike for the shorties that's street legal. I had to put her on a Savage for a street bike due to seat height, when what we wanted was to put her on a small sport bike. The dual sport offerings cause similar problems for short folks.

Can't believe I'm looking for this either as all I wanted years ago was a bike like the current offerings.

I'd have killed back then for my DRZ with 12" of travel. Now everyone complains about the 39" seat height. I love it.

Check out the link to Qlink (hey, it rhymes!) and their XF200. The seat height is 31" which might be too big, or not. Qlink just discontinued their X-ranger 200 (so you should be able to still find it around) which was listed with a 29" height. Member SamM has one, and a few others, who could tell you about the seat height. Zongshen has the Sierra 200, which also might or might not be discontinued, (is actually the Qlink X-ranger) which, being the same bike as the Qlink is listed with the 29" seat.

29" would be better suited for her. I think the TW is around 31" and she has a little trouble with it. I tried slipping the forks a bit but need to be able to drop the rear as well. The rear does not use links, so shortening the shock spring or finding a shorter shock is about the simplest method.

I ride the TW as well and I'm 6"1", so lowering it is detrimental to me.

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look.

Here's the Zongshen page from Cycletrader. There are two Zongshen dealers listed for Florida which both have the Sierra listed at less than $1500 (a good deal for these bikes).

http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/6/7/89034367.htm

http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/1/0/89480210.htm

For comparison, here's the Qlink (it's made by Zongshen, so it's identical except for paint)

http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/6/4/88032664.htm

According to this Qlink dealer, the seat height is listed as 28.3 "

Damn Scott you are all over the place. try looking for a terminator or roketa 150. they are out there, low seat height, and street legal. i think the guy around the corner was selling his but that was a while ago.
