Tire mileage
I have a 07 Lifan GY-5. I got about 2200 miles on the stock CST rear tire and it only got a about 1/4 of the tread left in the center. Granted it's 100% road use so far and it's not a street tire. What kind of mileage do you have on yours (stock CST tire)? Oh, the front still looks like new. I like the DS type tire but hate to replace it with the OEM one if it's just going to melt away again.

I have like 3500km on mine, as far as I remember it looks basically new... but I haven't used it in about a month... It's not a CST though, I forget what brand came on my bike.

I have about 2500 miles on my stock CST and it is about done. I think 3000 miles will be it. My front shows little wear.

I am thinking about these two as replacements. You can get the CST cheap and they work fine, but wear fast.
DURO HF903/904 MEDIAN 60/40 on/off Or the MAXXIS C6006 50/50 on/off Both of these are reasonably priced. Still probably only see about 4000 miles out of one these too. Unless you go full street that is just how it is. I have a kenda trakmaster in the shed, but I think it may be alittle too aggressive for the street. Allen

Kato,
I'm thinking about the Maxxis tires too, If you make the jump, let me know where you got the best price...

I like the maxxis. Looks like a good all-around tire. I borrowed those pics from the americanmototire.com site.
The duro is cheaper, but I haven't heard much on those. Maxxis has been around for a while. I still need to shop around. I haven't worn the CST smooth yet. Allen

Maxxis looks good. I like my trakmaster though. Not for lots of mileage, but for looks and dirt rippin'!

I just read some reviews of the Duro and people seem to like them and report 7-10K on them. The maxxis doesn't seem to have as positive reviews. Just learn that it is an off-shoot of CST.
I am leaning toward the duro. Allen

I have that exact Duro tire for the rear of my Roketa. My stocker was getting low with 1600 miles, but I crashed before I got a chance to wear out the stocker. The Duro is a nice looking tire. The quality looks good and I like the design. Probably wont get it on the bike till Spring. Good days are running out here in Vermont, and I don't get the cast off for 2 more weeks :( .

The duro is looking like a good choice now. The stock size is about $45 shipped. I can swap the trakmaster on for planned off-road riding.

Dad got an amazing 6000miles+ out of his. I only got 3300 before I put the street tires on. They have gone over 7000miles so far and are still looking good.

I tend to use all the power it has to put to the ground, so I usually don't get the most miles out tires.

That's amazing fatboy!
I doubt mine will ever hit 10k. You've paid for your bike many times over. |
