New trunk case installed

Givi style base plate that trunk attaches to. Exact fit for the bolts on the back end.

To confirm, you're saying that the rack had bolt holes in the correct place for the mounting plate?

Yep. If you are familiar with the givi mounts these are very similar. Perfect alignment with the 4 bolts in the back

is it exact fit but slightly angled? I have a give system on my other bike and had an extra a base plate laying around. The bolts line up, but not straight, they are off center slightly on my hawk.

Thumbs Up

I want to second both the trunk AND soft bag setups. nothing beats a lockable trunk for quick and easy secure storage for around town, BUT, high mounting soft sides are the safer way to go off-road anyplace where a dirt/rock nap is conceivably possible, And some metal tube mounts for them on each side save the bike from a lot of potential damage.

One good fall with them on (and one less expensive trip for repairs) will make u a believer.

Can you recommend some high mounting soft sides?

this one isn't a givi, but mounts in the same way. I was able to align the base with the bolt holes on mine.

Are you able to get the seat off? I ended up using some large nuts to gain the space necessary to be able to remove the seat without first removing the base plate.
