SW New Mexico
I'm taking a few days to tent camp in SW New Mexico. The first pic is my campsite at City of Rocks between Silver City and Denning. Please, no comments on trucking the bike in as I have a million excuses beginning with "I wanted to".
The second pic is an overview of City of Rocks and the third is the Gila Cliff Dwellings.

Today, I took a ride out to the ghost town of Mogollon. Hwy 180 up from Silver City is a nice fast 2 lane with lots of sweepers and little traffic. The road into Mogollon starts as a small 2 lane, narrows to 1-1/2 lanes with no center stripe and finally gravel until you get into town, and there is no road.

Spud, you're too fast for me. I'm heading for NE Arizona tomorrow, will post up some more later.

Excellent pics! Thanks for sharing.
BTW, I'd certainly carry my bike in my truck, if I intended to ride far from home.

I agree. I don't have any problems with it, whatsoever.

Part 2, the final chapter
Moved on to Show Low, AZ and am camped at Fool Hollow State Park, just outside of town. As the pic below shows, the site is great and you can see the Lake in the background. I rode a loop around Fort Apache, Pinetop-Lakeside and then continued on to the Petrified Forest National Park. The roads and weather we're ideal for riding, and I was enjoying it so much, I didn't stop for pics until the NP.
Pic 1 is the campsite, pic 2 a petrified log and pic 3 is also a log that fell as a bridge over a river. The log is now supported with a concrete base and can no longer be walked on. Headed home tomorrow to start planning the next trip.
