Hawk 250 exhaust

Will a crf 230 exhaust system work on these? Looks like a dead ringer.

Hi, I just installed a pro circuit t-4 for a 2006 crf230 exhaust, after some modifications the Hawk sounds and rides a lot better.

Hey Chuck, what kind of mods did you need to do? Did the header
bolt right up? Glad to hear you like it. Thanks!

Other Options

I'm not sure of your Hawk's pipe configuration but this has always been a good choice and one or Spuds favorites as well, the FMF Turbine Core 2. It's actually a USFS Spark Arrestor but works very well as a muffler on these small displacement motors. They're relatively inexpensive (around 100.00), stainless, repackable, light and again, USFS approved for the back country. I especially like how they sound on the Hondoid pushrod motors like the Hawks share. I have them on my X-Moto, had one on my Qlink (pictured) and now have one on my Tao Tao Rhino ATV.

Indeed, the FMF Universal Spark Arrestor is also very well manufactured. It will certainly last the life of the motorcycle, and beyond.

Hi Learnin2fly,
The header holes has to be widened slightly and the exhaust will mount to the seat mounting bolt. I used 2 pieces of stainless steel plate and some washers. The exhaust mounting bracket is about 3/4 of an inch off,the bike frame prevents the exhaust to line up.
Thanks

I installed an FMF powercore 2 on my shineray... very gutsy sounding, but not loud enough to warrant cop trouble...LOL I spliced it into the stock exhaust...only downside is that it doesn't have any form of spark arrester so ot isn't USFS approved...however I think fmf makes an insert that could work for that...

Looks great Chuck, nice setup. I'll bet your Hawk lost some winter weight also!

If the exhaust is popping a lot, the fuel mixture is lean. I'm betting you need a larger main jet.
