200watt stator for Lifans?

I think I have found a solution to the wimpy electrical system in the Lifans (don't know about others).
It looks like the stator from a Honda ATC 250 R is the same as the LF200's.

The ATC's stator:

The Lifan's stator:

Ricky Stator sells the ATC 200 watt stator for $150. This would allow you to run some serious lighting. I suspect though that some rewiring with heavier wires and a better regulator would be in order.
I'm going to send some emails out tommorrow to see if I can get the dimensions on both stators.

That would be a great mod if it fits. I would like to be able to run some heated grips and more lights.

Good idea. I have considered attempting to rewind one.

I'm no electrical expert, but I get by. Put simply I don't see how a similar sized stator can produce nearly 3 times the output. Years ago I had a Yamaha XS850 it's 225w generator was easily twice the size of a GY one.

It is determined by the number of windings on stator. Not really the size.
